This year’s edition of KIW will once again be hosted as a hybrid event (primarily virtual) under the theme,“Harnessing the power of innovation and entrepreneurship for Uganda’s digital transformation, job creation and economic sustainability”.

The five day event will take place from November 22 to 26, and aims to achieve the following:

  • Explore the ways in which we can work towards achieving Uganda's development ambitions with a focus on what role innovators and entrepreneurs play in that process.
  • Discuss the ways in which innovation and entrepreneurship can be harnessed for job creation and employment.
  • Explore the links between digital technologies and community transformation. What have been the wins, misses and opportunities?

Startup Uganda

Startup Uganda, the hosts of KIW, is an association of innovation and entrepreneurship support organisations (IESOs) working together to improve our collective capacities, influence and impact, and to create a more enabling environment for innovators and businesses that in turn drive development across Uganda. With support from UNCDF, Startup Uganda officially launched in October 2019. The association has a current membership of up to fifteen IESOs.
